Compact Fluorescent bulbs are great for conserving energy and last much longer than conventional bulbs. They do contain mercury and must be disposed of properly. So what do you do with them?
QLC’s Committee for a Green Hoboken recently obtained pledges from over 300 NJ households to replace incandescent bulbs with CFL bulbs. In the process we heard concerns about disposal of the mercury-containing bulbs. Home Depot has come to the rescue. It is offering proper disposal of CFLs at every store. Other businesses may follow suit.
